skin care tips against wrinkles

by peter hutch
Wrinkles form when the skin loses its elasticity. Some wrinking of the skin is due to aging, but other causes are diet, stress, lifestyle, skin care habits and habitual facial expressions.
Resurfacing your skin with one of several techniques, such as a chemical peel, radiofrequency ablation or dermabrasion, may be the answer. Laser resurfacing â€" popular option in the family of ablative (wounding) skin resurfacing techniques â€" removes the aged or sun-damaged skin to allow younger looking skin to grow in its place.
Treatments for facial wrinkles are usually performed in the office setting which is convenient, private, and safe for persons who desire therapy. Your health, in conjunction with the appropriate therapy to achieve your goals, is given full consideration by your Facial Plastic Surgeon prior to the any decision to undertake specific treatment. However, very few individual health problems would limit the use of these therapies due to their minimally-invasive methods of application. Your concerns and any medical requirements for each facial wrinkle therapy will be part of the consultation with your surgeon.
Hyaluronic acid has become acceptedâ€"and even preferredâ€"for use in wrinkle treatment. However, some people have allergic reactions to hyaluronic acid products synthesized from bovine or avian tissue. Juvéderm is made of biosynthesized, non-animal hyaluronic acid, so it is free of allergens that may cause adverse reactions in some patients. Juvéderm® offers the same cosmetic benefits provided by animal-based hyaluronic acid skin fillers, but without the risk of allergic reaction. Juvéderm comes in several concentrations for treatment of different types of wrinkles and creases.
Treatment with this medicine may cause your body to form antibodies that may make future treatments less effective. You should receive the lowest effective dose, with at least 3 months between shots. Injections in the muscles close to the eyes may cause you to blink less. This may harm your eyes. Your health care provider may prescribe eye drops, ointment, soft contact lenses, or an eye patch to protect your eyes until the medicine has worn off enough for you to be able to blink normally again. About 30 minutes before you go out in the sun, apply a sunscreen with a sun-protection factor (SPF) of at least 15. If you have a fair complexion or sun-sensitive skin, you may need a higher SPF, such as 30 or even 45, especially in a southern climate or at a high altitude. Remember that water, sand, snow, and concrete reflect the sun's rays and increase the likelihood of sunburn. Rub plenty of sunscreen on all exposed skin, paying special attention to the back of the neck, ears, nose, and shoulders.
Add a few drops of essential oil to a carrier oil, or fragrance and lanolin free skin cream or lotion and massage into the skin. In addition to use in prevention of wrinkles, Botox has been used to treat uncontrolled eye twitching, crossed eyes, muscle spasms and, most recently, excessive underarm sweating. more.....

Beauty is not only skin-deep. The first impression that affects a person forever about an individual forms in only ten seconds and is mostly based on visual impression of a person that includes his or her attire, personality, style and body language. Women have been aware of using this first impression to their advantage since thousands of years, almost by instinct. We know that ancient Egyptians and their mysterious Queen Cleopatra used many cosmetics, milk and rose petal baths, fragrances and many other methods to enhance their beauty.
The footwear of choice is made from natural materials, because it helps the foot breathe. Try to wear shoes or slip on the lace on the foot of your foot for comfort. Of all the beauty tips you can try these tricks at home beauty. If you have swollen eyelids, take a drop of castor oil cooler. To cool your eyes use slices of cucumber or cotton balls or pads soaked in milk. Put them on your eyes for a moment and relax. In an ideal world, we all get the ideal amount of sleep for our bodies every night, even if this does not necessarily mean eight hours.
Have you ever thought how a small bottle with nothing but clean water in it can rid you of your nightmares? You can use herbal flower water too, to spray your armpits with. Add a few drops of cologne to the water, if you like, in the spray bottle. Earlier in the day, use a spray deo immediately after a bath on semi-damp skin. Water makes a better spray than strong cologne because some cosmetics block the natural and necessary process of perspiration. Spray twice or thrice a day.
Mix equal quantity of almond, rose water, glycerine and lemon juice. Apply on face and keep overnight. Wash off in the morning, first with warm water and then with cold water, to give a glowing effect to your face.

good skin cares- teens

by Julia Schwartz
Sometimes, when your older, you wish to go back to those teenage years. But we forget about the difficulties we had and teenagers these days still have. Just think about the physical changes you go through in that phase of your life. It's the time you become aware of your body and the way you and others look at it. It is also the time in your life that a lot skin troubles start to happen. Things like acne, blackheads and pimples start to show on the surface of your skin. You should take good care of your skin in this period of your life. Here are a few tips for teenage skin care, if only we had these when we were young.
Cosmetics, use with care
A lot of teens spend a great deal of their time using makeup. But teens should think twice before choosing a makeup product. They should make sure that non of these products, be it a foundation, blush-on, moisturizers or anything else had any oil content. Buy products from well known manufacturers. It would be a good thing if all the products you need and use are natural and organic. If a product is chemical based it can cause blemishes or pimples all over your face.
Squeezing is not the solution
It's an urban myth that squeezing the blemishes in your face help to solve the problem quicker. Squeezing the problem area will only make matters worse. When you squeeze or start picking the problem area you are at a higher risk of creating scar tissue and by doing so creating a problem for life. You're better of when you leave the area alone and don't touch, pick, rub, scratch or squeeze your skin. Of all the teen skin care tips that are out there this is probably the most important one.
Always be gentle when cleansing
Somehow a lot of teens think that their skin will look better if they keep on cleaning the skin with a strong soap, this way taking out all the oil from that specific area. This is of course a wrong conclusion. What it does is make your skin loose moisture and that is something you don't want your skin to loose. This goes for all skin types, always be gentle. Always use a mild soap or cleanser to clean your skin.

skin care tips - prevent cold sores

by Tina woodburn

First off, what is a cold sore? A cold sore is a blister which usually appears on your lips or within your mouth. Another term for this is "fever blister".
These sores are very painful to have and definitely a nuisance when you have them. So it is very important to know how to prevent them from developing in the first place.
The herpes simplex virus is the virus that triggers the formation of cold sores. The herpes simplex virus can either be the HSV-1 type or the HSV-2 variety, but either type can make you develop sores. You can get infected by the herpes simplex virus by kissing a person who has it, or when you use stuff that has been infected by the virus. That is why it is very important to practice good hygiene when you are infected with a cold sore or have a companion who is infected.
It is possible to be a carrier of the herpes simplex virus yet lack any of the symptoms. That is why it is never advisable to use eating utensils, or share food (like a lollipop or ice cream) with another person - you never know if they can infect you with their cold sores virus. You should refrain from sharing table napkins, towels, and anything else that can be infected with another person's saliva, so you can avoid being infected. The saliva of the other person is the medium by which the herpes simplex virus can be transmitted.
If you have already been infected by the herpes simplex virus, you are probably going to be prone to getting cold sores because the virus will stay in your body in a dormant state until your immune system weakens and the virus gets the chance to attack. When it perceives a weak link in your immune system, the virus will make you break out in cold sores. That is why you should make it a point not to spread the virus to other people so they don't suffer what you do.
Cold sores seem to get worse when the patient is undergoing certain situations. For instance, some infected people tend to develop outbreaks more readily when they are ill with the flu or have colds. Most people may have been infected when they were children (since children will be children and tend to share stuff with one another without wondering about infections.) But for some people, there are events or situations that act as "triggers" that launch development of sores. Some women get them because they are pregnant, or because they are going through their menstrual period. Even a simple visit to the dentist to pull out a tooth can make certain patients break out. And in some individuals, the cause of their cold sores will always remain a mystery.
Though for healthy individuals a cold sore may be just an annoyance, for some sick people a cold sore can actually be life threatening. Examples of such patients are people with HIV-infection or AIDS, or cancer victims. Such people have to be very careful never to get sores because their immune systems are compromised by their illness. more...
